PROJECTS

This past August 2016, The Louie Bear Project visited Houston, TX for its 1st Back 2 School Bash. The project registered about 80 children which were provided with supplies such as notebooks, backpacks, pencils, glue, crayons, folders, and a few stickers for the upcoming year. Food, drinks, and music brought eveyone together for a great time as children did some painting under the craft tent and played in the bounce house. The Louie Bear Project would like to thank all sponsors, vendors, and indivduals who helped make this event a success.

The Louie Bear Project hosted its second back to school drive August 2018 in the hometown of founder Christopher Dupree. This year we partnered with a bunch of local businesses and organizations to send the children off with the necessary Tools for School. Together we provided over 100 students with backpacks and school supplies ranging from 1st grade to college. Thanks to our partners and donors, we were able to giveaway about 50$ in cash and about 200$ in gift certificates. The Louie Bear Project would like to thank everyone who came out and supported Tools for School, and also each and every partner and donor. The event was such a success, we will be back next year.

In July of 2019 The Louie Bear Project hosted its 2nd back to school drive in Acadia, LA. This events provides area children with the necessary Tool for School while showing community support for the importance of education. Once again there was a large turn out of about 150+children ranging from Pre-K through College. There were also raffles for prizes such as trampoline park admission, headphones, and some other cool items. This event will continue to be held annually right before school. Thank you to all the volunteers, partners, and donors this has become a highly anticipated event in the area and it would not be possible without you support.

Although school changed in 2020 because of a global pandemic, The Louie Bear Project's Tools for School Drive remained a bright spot for everyone to look forward to. Just like other years, we still proved things like notebooks, pen, and pencils, but we also made sure to include things like facemask and hand sanitizer for students. We also minimized our face to face contact by implementing drive thru style distribution. All in all the mission and the results remained the same with about 150 students receiving the necessary tools for the upcoming school year. Thank you to all of our partners and sponsors for their continued support.
